Will a 80 watt tubular Heater keep you warm when working with draft, in the garage ?
At 80watts I would personally have though it was the most energy efficient heater available .
However I am also considering an infrared Quartz heater for around the same price of £30 ( Both found in recent Argos )
The latter quarts heater does seem to use more electricity at 1.8 Kw thus being less energy efficient . However I am not sure if it would be a lot warmer than the tubular
What do you recommend getting for the garage ?
Well the garage is only small ( one-car ) . Perhaps A halogen out door heat lamp would suffice?
Lots of good advice so far here,I’d go for the infra red,little point in heating up everything.One thing u don’t mention,or anyone else,guess I’m the only one apart from you that has this problem.The first thing to have when working in a garage is a duck board,a long enough platform constructed of 2′x1′ slats with 1/2′ gaps between the slats screwed onto a 2′x1′ series crossmembers.It’s long been known in industry that standing on cold concrete floors suck the heat out of you and tire you out.Ive spent many days at the bench and without a duck board I’m frozen and knotted like a rope without one.Trust me.Go look in any industrial shop,If concrete floored,in front of any machine tools or bench is a duck board,bliss.
