Looking for a safe portable heater?
I am looking for a very safe portable space heater for a room in my home that is always cool in the winter. I would like to know which ones are the safest on the market and why. I also would like to know if the Electric fireplace heaters I have seen advertised are safe or if they have there drawbacks.
If the room you are looking to put the heater in already has a fireplace you should look to see if the damper is open or if the damper is leaking in cold air. If it is leaking air you can plug the flue with an inexpensive chimney balloon to stop the draft.
If the room is still cold I would look into the electric/ceramic tile heater units. They tend to be more energy efficient than resistance heaters as described before.
