1995 intrepid heater isnt working.?
I’ve been thru it from one end to the other. Heater core is clear, I connected a water hose to it and water flows freely. Pulled the lower dash panel and checked all the diagnostics, air blend door is working and all associated doors are working. Heater core doesnt appear to get hot enuff. Gotta be a circulation prob. Thermostatat is new and works. Motor comes up to temp as it should. Only conclusion I can come to is the pump isnt turning fast enuff. The car doesnt overheat tho. Is it simply that the pulley which runs the pump isnt gripping the timing belt tight enuff? It looks like a pee poor desgin as what I see is only 20 to 25 percent of the pully runs against the backside of the timing belt according to the diagram. Also thinkin maybe the impeller on the pump could be slipping….dam frustrating this time of year in northern illinois!
There is no such valve on an Intrepid
The entire heating and air conditioning system is electrically controlled.
Providing the cooling system is properly bled and the engine has not been over heating not to mention all of the other things you have checked.
I would believe the heater core has diverted flow or there is a hvac door problem.
The 3.5l water pump was of poor design but if the engine temps are normal it is unlikely the cause.
