Floor heater trouble?
My floor heater will not come on. It is getting gas and the pilot is lit. But I cant get the thing to kick on. I tried replacing the wall thermostat but am not sure what else I can do. It’s and Empire brand floor heater.

Since these units require no external power source and the pilot generates the power needed to operate the unit the condition of the pilot flame and how well it impinges on the thermopile is critical for how much power it can generate.
If that seems to be OK then it may be a weak connection somewhere.
These systems are very low voltage and any weak connection will lose the voltage required to operate the main valve.
Probably most common is the thermostat itself.
To eliminate this possibility remove the thermostat and connect the two wires together to see if it will fire up.
Empire units usually come with a millivolt thermostat that has open contacts that may need cleaning.
