has anyone had a problem with an unpleasant odour coming from the convector elements of Dimplex storage heater
The Dimplex storage heater in mind has two instant heat convector elements of 650 and 1350 watt output and is about 17 years old. I wonder if the resin binder of the element support is degrading but would it be similar with new elements?
If its a “fishy” smell it could be a bad connection or perished electrical covering to the wires. Check for any visible discolouration to internal wiring first.Seek advice it planning to fiddle with the connections unless you know what you are doing….eg turn it off first etc!
