Plug on a gasoline 2002 dodge ram 5.9 engine?
I have a 2002 Dodge Ram with a 5.9 liter V8, and it has a electrical plug behind the grill right on the passenger side of the Radiator so u can plug it in. I’m not sure what its for cause i never heard of a plug being on a gasoline engine like they have on diesels. Is that for a block heater or what? I tried to follow the wires and it looks like they go back to the rear of the engine somewhere. Im scared of plugging it in cause i don’t want the thing catching on fire or something.
that may have been for an auxiliary plug on that truck, if anyone pulled a camper with it and used it a lot they might have ran one for power back to the camper,i have sen this done a few times like that,if you can trace it out see exactly where it comes out at,id say it will come out at the rear of the truck near the trailer hook up ,it may have also been used for an add on camper,to power the insides of it on a camp ground, some of the gas engines did have heaters installed on them,if it doesn’t go no farther than the rear of the block its a block heater ,you could get those added on at a dealer after the vehicle was purchased, good luck.
